salestar connect, providers of specialist software and business solutions for the mobile phone industry, are delighted to announce the arrival of two new members of staff. Mike Leuner as a dedicated account manager and Helen Whitaker as the new client service liaison officer.

Mike and Helen join salestar connect at a very busy and exciting time, salestar connect is currently promoting their new and revolutionary web-based software which includes salestar™ connect, d-point and t-point. The salestar™ connect platform will offer a solid business solution, irrespective of the number of sites, sales channels, connections and/or added value services a solution to suit the individual mobile phone business requirements.

Deen Ossman said ‘Mike and Helen’s knowledge and expertise in client services will compliment and work alongside the very strong technical support department that salestar connect has already in place, which includes helpdesk, software installation and training, together they will provide a total care service for all our clients’.

Mike will build upon salestar connect'sstrong technology delivery culture and establish strong and lasting business working relationships with all our clients. He will work closely with existing clients on a customised personal plan that will meet their individual objectives and try to deliver services that will go beyond their expectations. Mike will always work hard on his client’s behalf to get the best deal for them at all times.

Helen’s friendly and personal touch will be a big hit with clients. She is very calm and will deal with all inquiries small or big in the first instance and make sure all issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Mike, a law graduate joins salestar connect from the Careers Development Group. Mike was a corporate hospitality assistant manager for Mizuho International and worked as a corporate hospitality coordinator for Into the Wild too.

Helen is a history graduate and joins salestar connect from the Institution of Engineering and Technology. Helen was a public relations assistant for a number of public relations agencies including Republic PR, Ketchum, Darwall Smith Associates Ltd, Abstruse Space and the charity I CAN.

Michael Anselm has built a career creating positive change in a controlled environment. The principles that work with intensive agriculture are equally relevant to being Sales and Marketing Director of salestar connect, the supplier of specialist software for mobile phone channels.

Michael Anselm inherited the entrepreneurial gene from his father but it took time to give it free expression. "He tried to steer me to a professional career and I spent three years at accountancy school in Switzerland but it just didn't trigger my creative switch.

"So then I studied architecture at Kingston Polytechnic. I've always been interested in the managed environment and in creating elegant solutions that satisfy form and function. After graduation I spent three years with Ward Associates on the design of the new Hammersmith underground station complex. But I concluded that the institutional atmosphere was not for me."

Chan ge was inspired by his degree thesis on hydroponics - growing plants on a sand or perlite substrate and applying nutrients via a water flow. "The technology was widely applied in WW2 but I wanted to do it differently. I started a company to develop a unique system for growing salad crops under glass, feeding them with a continuous heated water flow with no substrate.

 


An oil crisis at the time made it much more cost effective and the Government endorsed it through grant aid in 1979. You created organic crops in computer controlled laboratory conditions and could get print outs in London from glasshouses worldwide."

Anselm sold the company to Dunlop in 1981 and joined its agricultural division where he became General Manager. He bought the company back in 1983 to develop a totally sealed production process. "We had plants in Calgary and Newfoundland , and we automated the entire process. Pesticides and other chemical applications were eliminated. Safeway was a prime customer.

"But I had no family time. So I sold out again after six years to enjoy two gap years."

Batteries recharged, Anselm engaged in consultancy work. "I specialised in providing strategic marketing advice for high-tech projects in small companies and in niche divisions of multinationals." That list includes Motorola, LG Electronics, Reuters Health Information and Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

"I liked to get involved with companies where with a small team; I could make a positive difference. That led me in 2000 to salestar connect.

Everybody here at salestar connect is delighted that we have been invited back to participate in the Unity seminar for Hugh Symons Unity Dealers. The seminar last year proved to be absolutely successful and beneficial not only for syntros, but for Hugh Symons and all dealers present. 

salestar connect is thankful to Hugh Symons for their cooperation, and in particular for the assistance of Sophie Vincent who has made this all possible. salestar connect has now got the chance to reciprocate this opportunity, and deliver new benefits to dealers who work with Hugh Symons, and add value to their businesses.

If you will be attending the seminar please come and find the salestar connect team to discuss any requirements you may have. We will also be offering a special promotion to dealers who are there on the day.

salestar connect customer service survey

Recently a survey was carried out by salestar connect on customers as part of the new customer support program. The survey is one extremely effective way in which salestar connect can retrieve feedback about support services.

When asked to rate the level of services that customers were currently experiencing, more than 21% of salestar connect dealer customers said that they never called support. This was mainly due to the fact that they have used the software for a reasonable length of time. 60% of dealers said that the services were good and the rest said it needed to improve.

 

Other results from the survey show that 74% of customers that received the customer support and information email read it. From them 76% said that the email was useful and 95% said that the email was easy to navigate.

salestar connect would, however, like to increase the number of customers who receive the e-mail by acquiring the e-mail addresses of regular users and updating e-mail addresses that changed.
